It's not that simple you know, 1st  you need to have fanbase because lets say i did entire game and now i give it to you, what you will do with it? Youl release on your website but not a lot of people would care unless you have fanbase who would want to play it, thats why people kickstarting projects so there are people who are waiting for the game, it would take a lot of time and obviously $ to do this but its always better to work on something if you know that it will sell and has fanbase/people waiting for finished game.Its harder for unknown games, they need huge marketing.
